Special Series: A Society Designed to Destroy the Self

In this special series of 6 Lives, we address the forces that are against healthy development, given the timeline of the history of humanity's evolution.

From the dawn of humanity to the globalist Agenda 2030.

Notably, humanity is heading towards imbalance and worrying disorder, moving away from its active thinking and spirituality, being led towards materialism and, consequently, the loss of its freedom.

Given this reality, maintaining mental health has been a daily challenge for an ever-increasing number of people. These are times of conflict between planned political decisions with ideological biases that purposefully confront our timeless human values.

To better understand this scenario, highlighting the forces that act and interfere in the evolution of humanity, we invited Prof. Rufo Garcia Rubio, a scholar on globalism and its consequences on humanity, from an anthroposophical perspective.

Dr. Ana Cristina Malheiros

Schedule:

Professor Rufo Garcia Rubio draws a parallel between the development of human beings and humanity. Based on the seven-year periods in individual biographies, he relates them to sensory perceptions, intellect and consciousness, showing their reflections in the evolutionary steps of humanity itself. In anthroposophical language, this is the historical process of humanity in a biography of 2,160 years:

– Assyrian-Chaldean-Babylonian Egyptian culture (2907 to 747 BC): Soul of sensation.

– Greco-Roman culture and the Middle Ages (747 BC to 1,413 AD): Soul of character and intellect.

– Anglo-Saxon culture (1413 AD to 3573 AD) present: Soul of consciousness.

A Society Designed to Destroy the Self - Soul of Sensation

Node In Egypt, the people could only contemplate the spiritual world to a very limited extent. The Earth was a field of action entrusted to them and which they were to transform using their intellectual abilities. The Egyptian man studies the sensible, material world, adapts to it and transforms it through work, so that it becomes a testament to human power. It is a conquest that takes place gradually.

In Greco-Roman culture, the great Greek poet Homer tells in the Odyssey the saga of Ulysses (or Odysseus) on his return to Ithaca after the Trojan War. In Odysseus' personality, we glimpse the prototype of the human being of the future.

Odysseus, the Greek hero, in order to achieve the elevation of his rational, egoistic thought and elevate it to the sphere of spiritual thought, has to undergo trials that purify him. This archetypal teaching is valuable for human development.

The highlight is the myth of Dionysus, experienced in Eleusis under the concept of the triune Dionysus (the young Dionysus, the Dionysus Zegreus and Dionysus Iacos). This myth will be duly developed together with that of Apollo in Delphi, culminating in the concept of the Greek Polis as a free city.

Next, we will learn about the role of Plato and Aristotle and their conceptual differences, as exponents of the forces of the Soul of the intellect, thus forming, little by little, the concept of the Self itself.

A Society Designed to Destroy the Self - Soul of Nature and Intellect

In classical Greece, human potential developed without interference. People lived and acted in such a way that the individual could express himself in all his social, philosophical, artistic or religious manifestations. Before this period of history, human beings lived united to the shadow of the consciousness of the gods.

A good example is found in statements known to the Hebrews, when the Israelite said: “I and my father Abraham are one”. This means that, in his conscience, he is still united with the progenitor of the Hebrew people. From Asia, Greece received the image of the sphinx, composed of four elements: a tripartite animal body (cow, lion, eagle) and the earthly human that is separated from the generic (represented in the head with human form).

The campaigns of Alexander the Great and the role Aristotle played in the Hellenization of Asia. Rudolf Steiner mentioned that Aristotle, Alexander's teacher and educator, did not look favorably on Alexander's desire and tried to persuade him. Upon realizing the impossibility of appeasing the Alexandrian desire, he began to order Alexander's impulse, directing the military campaigns in the form of a cross in that geographical territory.

This crossing made it possible for the Hebrew people to be Hellenized as well, and thus logical thought would reach Jerusalem, where three centuries later it would meet the forces of love brought to Earth by Christ. It was through the Christic forces that the self received its completeness and could rise above the earthly human self and begin the process of becoming a true Self.

A Society Designed to Destroy the Self - Soul of Consciousness

With Christ, the Self is transformed from being a creature (passive), created by the gods, to being a creator (active), by its own powers. This is the great mystery that begins in the transition of times, especially in the time in which we live. This is the great mystery that begins in the transition of times, especially in the time in which we live in the 21st century.

With the beginning of the evolution of the conscious soul, the human being will develop within himself the attributes of the True Self, gradually elevating himself until he reaches full knowledge of himself as a spiritual individuality. This journey is developed in stages presented by Professor Rubio in this last live of this special series.
